Biography
Canadian Flutist Joshua Michael-Sievers pursued studies in Canada, USA, and Europe focusing on orchestral training. During his studies, he had the opportunity to work with orchestral flutists from renowned orchestras such as Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchester, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Münchener Philharmoniker, Symphony Nova Scotia, and Staatskapelle Dresden. He is also indebted to the training he received from faculty at various institutions including the University of British Columbia, Hochschule für Musik Luzerne, Northern Arizona University, Hochschule für Musik Saarland, Victoria Conservatory, Mozarteum Salzburg, and UDK Berlin.
In 2017, Joshua was in a car accident. Due to his injuries, he is no longer able to pursue playing the flute professionally.
Joshua relocated permanently to Canada in 2021. You will find him exploring cafés, beach combing, spending time with his family, or reading a book with a glass of wine or a mug of tea.
